Wild west family fun day rolls into town

03 November 2017

Community western event.

A popular community event returns this month. Residents of Balderstone and Kirkholt in Rochdale are being invited to a festive ‘Western’ event at St Thomas’ Church in Kirkholt on Monday, 20 November 2017.

At 4pm the event will begin around the Christmas tree on The Strand with festive music, dancing and the lights switch on before moving to St Thomas’ Church on Gainsborough Drive for a couple of hours packed with activities themed around the ‘wild west’.

Christmas Tree.

There’ll be pies and peas, games, live music, dancing, crafts and a bouncy castle.  Other family entertainment will include a comedy photo booth, face painting, a rodeo bull, and guests from Rochdale AFC. Wild west fancy dress is optional!!

‘Another memorable day’

The event is being organised by us along with St Thomas’ Church. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Councillor Kathleen Nickson, who has arranged the event along with St Thomas’ Church and Rochdale Township said they are looking forward to it:

"Last year hundreds of residents came down to support this event and we are making it another memorable day. We thought a wild west theme would add something special to the day and it will certainly be a lot of fun! It was great to see so many turn up last year, coming together to kick start the festive season.”
