Bank holidays in England and Wales. If a bank holiday is on a weekend, a 'substitute' weekday becomes a bank holiday, which is normally the following Monday.

Bin collections over the bank holiday
There are no changes to bin collections on bank holidays, except over Christmas and New Year.
Your bins will be collected on the same day as usual over bank holidays, Easter and Good Friday.
If you don't know which day your bin is normally collected, you can check by using our bin collection calendar. Please remember to put your bin out by 7am as normal.

Coronavirus (COVID-19). Libraries and customer services usually close on bank holidays, and remain open the weekends before and after. Unfortunately, all our customer service centres are currently closed due to COVID-19, however, a number of libraries are open.

Housing Benefit payments over the bank holiday
BACS payments and cheques due on bank holidays will be paid a day early.
There are no other changes to Housing Benefit payments.
Link4Life - leisure facilities
Link4Life is a Cultural Trust set up by Rochdale Borough Council to deliver leisure and cultural services in the borough.
Link4Life leisure centres will be closed on bank holiday Monday.
Touchstones Rochdale is open 9.30am-4.30pm.
