Arts Award

Our libraries support Arts Award with the events we deliver. If you attend a storytelling session, meet an author, illustrator or poet you're taking part in an arts activity. If you attend a poetry or art workshop you're making art, showing skills and creativity.

A great example of this is the mural in the children’s library at Number One Riverside, created by children at the 2013 Literature and Ideas Festival. You might come to a drum circle or meet dancers, choirs or circus skills performers. All of this contributes to the Arts Award. You can research the work and life of an inspiring artist at your local library. Many children take part in the annual Summer Reading Challenge which contributes to your Arts Award.
